Rajmargyatra App: Overview

Rajmargyatra is the official mobile app of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), which works under the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH). NHAI launched the app on 3 August 2023 as a single app for people who travel on National Highways. Over time it has become the main place to buy the FASTag Annual Pass, and in 2026 NHAI added more services to it: a Digital Local Pass and the MargMitra Help Centre (PIB, 20 July 2026), and OneTag FASTag portability (PIB, 11 September 2026).

This guide covers the app's features, the 2026-27 Annual Pass fee, step-by-step pass purchase, the helpline and official links.

What's New in 2026

  • Annual Pass fee revised (from 1 April 2026): NHAI revised the FASTag Annual Pass fee from ₹3,000 to ₹3,075 for FY 2026-27, under the National Highways Fee (Determination of Rates and Collection) Rules, 2008 (PIB, 15 March 2026).
  • Digital Local Pass (July 2026): Residents living within a 20 km radius of an eligible toll plaza can buy a monthly Local Pass in the app for unlimited travel through that plaza during the month, without visiting the plaza. It started at the Mundka–Bakkarwala Toll Plaza on UER-II, Delhi, and NHAI said more plazas will follow in the coming months. With the user's consent, the app fetches address, vehicle number and linked FASTag details from DigiLocker and VAHAN, and GIS-based checks confirm eligibility.
  • MargMitra Help Centre (July 2026): A single-window chat assistant in the app. You can type or speak your question in any of 22 Indian languages for help on FASTag recharge, KYC, refund status, Annual and Local Pass and common FAQs. Complaints go automatically to the right department, can be tracked in real time, and can be appealed if you are not satisfied.
  • OneTag FASTag portability (September 2026): Launched by Union Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari at Global Fintech Fest 2026 in Mumbai, OneTag lets you change your FASTag issuer bank while keeping the same tag. The Tag ID and vehicle number stay the same. It is a joint initiative of IHMCL and NPCI, and it is available through the Rajmargyatra app.

Main Features of Rajmargyatra

  • FASTag Annual Pass: buy, view, renew and gift the pass.
  • FASTag services: check FASTag status, recharge the wallet, manage Monthly Pass, check whether a FASTag is blacklisted, and view pending e-Notices.
  • Complaints: report highway problems such as potholes, toll plaza issues, encroachment or safety hazards with geo-tagged photos or videos, then track the status. If a complaint is delayed, it is escalated automatically to higher officers.
  • Highway information: weather, nearby toll plazas, petrol pumps, hospitals, hotels and charging stations.
  • Toll plaza details: toll rates, operator details and amenities.
  • EnRoute route planner: shows the toll plazas on your route and estimated toll cost.
  • Safety: over-speeding alerts and voice assistance.
  • Languages: the App Store listing shows English plus Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Oriya, Punjabi, Tamil and Telugu.
  • Emergency help: 24x7 assistance through the 1033 National Highway Helpline.
