How to File an Appeal

  1. Rate the disposal. The appeal option is available when you rate the reply as Poor.
  2. File the appeal within 30 days of the disposal.
  3. Explain why the reply did not solve your issue.
  4. The Nodal Appellate Authority must decide the appeal within 30 days.

Track the appeal on the Appeal Status page of the portal.

21-Day Timeline Under 2024 Guidelines

DARPG issued Comprehensive Guidelines for public grievance redressal in August 2024. They cut the disposal timeline from 30 days (2022 guidelines) to 21 days, and require every ministry and department to have Nodal Officers and Dedicated Grievance Cells. If a case needs more time, an interim reply with reasons must be sent to the citizen.
