SSC GD Constable 2027 Notification Expected This Month: Calendar Dates, Last Year's 25487 Vacancies and Eligibility

If you are waiting for the next SSC GD Constable recruitment, the official calendar says the wait should end this month. The Staff Selection Commission's tentative calendar for 2026-27 lists the Constables (GD) in CAPFs, NIA, SSF and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles Examination, 2027 with notification in September 2026.
As of 11 September 2026 the notice has not appeared on the SSC notice board. Below is what is official right now, and what the previous notice tells us about eligibility and vacancies.

One honest caution. The same calendar had placed the Sub Inspector (CPO) 2026 notification in May 2026, and that notice was actually uploaded on 10 September 2026. SSC calendars are tentative, so the GD notice could also slip. Check the notice board at ssc.gov.in rather than relying on forwards.
What the last notice (GD 2026) said
The GD 2026 notice was published on 1 December 2025 with applications open till 31 December 2025 and the exam in February to April 2026. Its eligibility rules are the best official guide to what the 2027 notice is likely to contain. Final conditions will be those printed in the 2027 notice.
Vacancies in GD 2026: 25,487 in total, of which 23,467 were for male candidates and 2,020 for female candidates.

Ten percent of the vacancies were earmarked for Ex Servicemen.
Pay: Pay Level 3, Rs 21,700 to Rs 69,100, for all posts.
Age: 18 to 23 years as on 1 January 2026, which meant a date of birth between 2 January 2003 and 1 January 2008. For the 2027 exam the crucial date is expected to move to 1 January 2027, but confirm this from the notice.
Education: Matriculation or 10th class pass from a recognised board. The date of birth in the Matriculation certificate is what SSC accepts for age.
Fee: Rs 100. Women, SC, ST and Ex Servicemen eligible for reservation were exempt.
Use the waiting time well
Since SSC now runs all applications through its One Time Registration on the new portal, complete your registration on ssc.gov.in today if you have not already. Keep your Matriculation certificate, a scanned photo and signature ready. Check your height, chest and weight against the physical standards in the GD 2026 notice, because the physical test is the stage where most rejections happen.
