Social Science 25 2 50
Intelligence 25 2 50
Total 150 400

In both papers Mathematics carries half the marks, that is where the selection is decided.

Selection and Counselling

  1. Qualify the written exam and appear on the merit list, prepared school-wise and category-wise.
  2. Register for e-counselling on the AISSAC portal, fill and lock school preferences. Seats are allotted over multiple rounds against the reservation structure, 67% for home-state candidates and 33% for other states, plus the defence and ex-servicemen ward quota and SC, ST and OBC reservation.
  3. Medical examination at a designated Army or government hospital. This is mandatory, and failing it cancels the allotment.

Parents should take the medical stage seriously from the start, vision, hearing, knock knees, flat foot and similar conditions are assessed against defined standards, and a late discovery at this stage ends the admission.

Preparation Notes

  • Mathematics first. With 150 of 300 marks in Class VI and 200 of 400 in Class IX, arithmetic speed decides the result.
  • No negative marking means attempt every question.
  • The Intelligence section rewards practice on patterns, series, analogies and figure-based reasoning rather than syllabus knowledge.
  • Practise on OMR sheets, since younger candidates lose marks to bubbling errors rather than to content.
