What Changed This Cycle

  • The cycle now runs on One Time Registration (OTR). You register once with Aadhaar e-KYC, and the same OTR number is reused for fresh and renewal applications in later years. One OTR per student, duplicate registrations cause rejection.
  • Pre-matric and post-matric now have clearly separated windows rather than one combined deadline, with pre-matric closing in September and post-matric at the end of October.

How to Apply

  1. Complete OTR with Aadhaar e-KYC on scholarship.up.gov.in.
  2. Choose Fresh or Renewal, and the correct category and level. Getting this wrong is a common cause of rejection.
  3. Fill in personal, academic, income, caste and Aadhaar-linked bank details.
  4. Upload the photograph (JPEG, up to about 20 KB) and the required documents.
  5. Final submit and print the completed form.
  6. Submit the printout to your school or college along with the income certificate, caste certificate, fee receipt, marksheets, Aadhaar and bank passbook copy, for Dashmottar fresh applications, by 4 November 2026.
  7. Track progress under Status on the portal. Money is credited by DBT in the first ten days of December.

Points That Decide Whether You Get Paid

  • The hard copy matters. In UP, an online submission alone is not enough, the printed form must reach your institution within the prescribed time. This is the single most common reason UP students lose their scholarship despite applying.
  • Your bank account must be Aadhaar-linked, or the DBT credit will fail.
  • Income certificate must be current and from the competent revenue authority.
  • Renewal candidates should not apply as Fresh, and the reverse.
