When Will the Admit Card Come?
RRBs follow a consistent pattern in every cycle:
- City intimation slip: about 10 days before the exam date. For a 6 October start, this points to around 26 September 2026.
- E-call letter (admit card): about 4 days before your exam date. That points to around 2 October 2026 for the first batch.
These are expected dates based on the established RRB pattern, not dates announced by the RRBs. In the previous Technician cycle the city slip came exactly 10 days ahead and the admit card 4 days ahead, so the pattern is reliable, but check your regional RRB site rather than waiting for a rumour.
SC and ST candidates also receive a free travel pass along with the city intimation slip.
How to Download
- Go to rrbapply.gov.in or to the website of the RRB you applied to (the list of regional RRBs is on rrcb.gov.in).
- Open the CEN 02/2026 Exam City Intimation or e-Call Letter link.
- Log in with your Registration Number and Date of Birth.
- Download the PDF and take a printout.
Admit cards are region-specific. If you applied to RRB Chandigarh, you cannot download from RRB Mumbai's site.
What to Carry to the Exam Centre
- Printed e-call letter.
- Original Aadhaar card, or a printed e-verified Aadhaar. Aadhaar-based biometric authentication is done before entry, so unlock your Aadhaar biometrics on the UIDAI portal beforehand if you have ever locked them. This single step causes a large number of entry problems every cycle.
- If Aadhaar is not available, another original photo ID, voter ID, PAN, passport, driving licence, or a school or college ID.
- SC/ST caste certificate copy where the fee concession was claimed.
- A recent passport-size photograph.
Not allowed inside: mobile phones, smart or digital watches, calculators, metal items, belts and jewellery.
Reporting and gate closing: based on the previous cycle's slips, reporting is around 90 minutes before the shift starts and the gate closes 30 minutes before the exam begins. The exact times for your shift will be printed on your own call letter, those are the ones that count.
Exam Pattern
- 100 questions, 100 marks
- Duration 90 minutes (120 minutes for eligible PwBD candidates with a scribe)
- Negative marking: 1/3 mark per wrong answer
- Normalisation is applied across shifts

Last-Week Checklist
- Unlock Aadhaar biometrics on the UIDAI portal now, not on exam day.
- Download the city slip the moment it appears and plan travel, railway exam centres are often outside your home city.
- Recheck the shift timing on your own call letter; shift timings are not uniform.
- Revise General Science for Grade-III, at 40 of 100 questions, it decides the paper.
- With 1/3 negative marking, avoid blind guessing on the last few questions.

Q3. What do I need to log in? Your registration number and date of birth, on your own regional RRB website.
